The historic Lafayette Hotel & Swim Club in San Diego’s North Park neighborhood is now under the ownership of locally based hospitality group CH Projects . The two-acre Colonial-style property, which was built in 1946, has officially reopened following a $31 million restoration led by Brooklyn-based design firm Post Company.
The revived hotel embodies a “feeling of nostalgia for the days when the property served as a hedonistic pleasure dome for Hollywood elite and their hangers on,” says Post Company partner Ruben Caldwell. “It’s a bit of our collective ode to the Grand Hotel. This is a space where unique whims are rewarded and you can scratch any itch.”
